Human Trafficking
Freedom for the Captive
We stand against exploitation—raising awareness, supporting frontline organizations, helping connect survivors with resources, and advocating for restoration and lasting freedom.
Overview
Understanding the issue
Human trafficking strips people of freedom, dignity, and safety through force, fraud, or coercion. It happens in cities, suburbs, and rural communities alike—often hidden in plain sight.
Survivors frequently face a long road: safety, housing, legal support, trauma care, and a community that will not let them walk alone.
Why Shepard & Stone cares
Jesus declared that He came to proclaim liberty to the captives. Every person bears the image of God, and no one should be bought, sold, or controlled. We go toward this darkness because Christ went toward us.
“He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives… to set at liberty those who are oppressed.”
